If you would like to claim housing or council tax benefit then you will need to complete an application form:

It is important to return the form as soon as possible as benefit will usually be paid from the Monday after we receive your application.

You will also need to provide evidence of your income, savings and rent.

Do not wait until you have all the proof asked for on the form; this can be sent separately.

Benefit surgeries

Need some advice? Come along to a benefit surgery.

  • Tuesdays,  10am to 1am, at Gillingham Library 
  • Wednesdays, 9am to 1pm,  at Elaine Centre, Clifton Close, Strood.
  • Thursdays, 9am to 12noon, at Gillingham Library 
  • Fridays, 9am to 12noon, at Rainham Contact Point, Station Road Rainham .
