Room : Guildhall Main Chamber         Accommodates : 100 guests, 75 seated and 25 standing

The Guildhall is conveniently located in the centre of Rochester and is managed as an annex of the Medway Register Office. It is available for ceremonies on Saturdays at the same rate as the Library Room. For weekday ceremonies, the standard approved premises rates apply. Civil ceremonies are held in the Guildhall Chamber on the upper floor.

The chamber is a fine example of 17th century interior decoration, with its magnificent painted plaster ceilings. A red-carpeted, sweeping staircase leads you to the chamber entrance, where you will be spellbound by the grandeur of this historic venue. The room is decorated with large oil paintings of monarchs and local dignitaries. The glittering chandeliers offer the perfect soft ambience for every ceremony.  The relaxed atmosphere will ensure your special day will be one to remember.

The Guildhall was built in 1687 and has been used in past centuries as a town hall, entertainment venue, court and council chamber. It radiates charm and historical atmosphere, and was the very place where Pip was bound as an apprentice in Charles Dickens Great Expectations.
