Auction premises

There is no requirement to register premises for public auctions in the Medway Council area. However, other local authorities may require registration, so anyone planning to hold an auction should always contact the council responsible for the area concerned.

Auctions held as occasional sales in Medway must comply with the Medway Act 2001. Auctions conducted by registered dealers on registered premises (that is, by an auctioneer on their premises) are exempt from this Act.
