Pentagon Centre development brief
Medway’s 20-year regeneration programme, valued at more than
£6billion, is set to transform central Chatham and its
waterfront.
Chatham Centre and Waterfront
Development Framework provides the context for major investment
that will establish the area as Medway's 'city centre'.
Central Chatham's road system has been remodelled to
improve traffic flow for years to come. The Sir John Hawkins Way
flyover has been demolished to make way for bus, taxi and cycle
route along Waterfront Way, junction improvements have been made at
Union Street and road-widening has taken place at the
Brook.
Chatham Waterfront Bus Station opened in 2011.
Plans for the waterfront include new apartments, a major arts
and entertainment venue, cafes and shops.
Long-term, the owners of the Pentagon Shopping Centre aim to
invest in major expansion and refurbishment. See documents below
related to the Pentagon Centre development plan.
