Filming in Medway

If you would like to film in Medway, get in touch with the Kent Film Office which works alongside Medway Council to find locations and obtain permits for filming in public areas.

Medway is a group of towns set along the River Medway which are steeped in history.

Excellent filming locations include:Rochester Castle

  • Rochester City with its beautiful cobbled streets, parks and the cathedral and castle
  • The Historic Dockyard Chatham, one of Kent’s most popular filming locations. The maritime heritage site is set over 80 acres and boasts a variety of Georgian and Victorian architecture, cobbled streets, and industrial buildings
  • Fort Amherst, an atmospheric Georgian fortress with a tunnel complex set over 17 acres of parkland
  •  Upnor, a small picturesque village with many houses finished in Kentish weatherboard and home to Upnor Castle situated on the banks of the River Medway.
