Voluntary organisations

Medway Youth Service works with voluntary organisations to help support the wide range of opportunities available for young people to make positive use their leisure time.

Medway Youth Trust

Medway Youth Trust works with 13 to 19-year-olds, both in school and in the community. MYT provides services that affect the lives of teenagers living and studying in Medway. Its personal advisors can be contacted on 01634 334343.

Young Kent

Kent Youth and Kent Council for Voluntary Youth Services (KCVYS) joined together in 2012 to form Young Kent which offers essential support services to youth organisations of all sizes through membership services.Its staff engages with members, as well as young people through face to face programmes.

St John Ambulance

This organisation has active youth groups for Medway that offer young people the positive option to enjoy challenging experiences, while learning a skill for life – first aid. Alongside other uniformed groups, it runs a continuous positive programme, with options to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Kent Scout Association

This provides administration for the county structure and supports uniformed scout groups in local districts. Medway’s core groups offer a wide range of activities from adventure on land or water, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and a commitment to community services.

West Kent Guides

This organisation provides information about and supports the many groups in the area. Opportunities are constantly available for active involvement in a wide variety of programmes.

Rochester Diocese

The Diocese works with young people from all backgrounds and provides a host of leisure opportunities within its faith community. Much of the work is carried out by a large group of volunteers, dedicated to offering their time to positive projects for young people. These efforts are linked to the wider community of Kent and many activities and events are co-ordinated nationally.

TGF Club

TGF Club serves the needs of the All Saints area in Luton. It is supported by Medway Youth and Play Service. On an annual basis, it organises and supports the young people’s community day, Mad4it, held at Medway Community College.

Ethnic Minority Forum

It is important to reflect the needs of all communities in Medway. The Ethnic Minority Forum supports a wide variety of activities from the athleticism of tiger dancing to the sound of the throbbing dhol drum. Eurofoot has been a notable success, encouraging male and female football players to compete in European competitions from Sweden to France.
