St Nicholas Day Care Centre

St Nicholas Day Centre provides day care for people over the age of 65 years, who suffer with either an organic (Dementia, Alzheimer’s) or functional (bi-polar, depression etc) mental health problem. The centre is open from 9am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Transport is available to those who live in the Strood area, which includes the Hoo Peninsula, Halling and Cuxton.

Clients can enjoy breakfast on arrival and, later on, a hot lunch. Many clients attend from outside this area with their families providing transport. It also provides support and signposting to services for families and carers.

At the centre, clients can enjoy a wide range of activities supported by a high staff to client ratio, with all medication and incontinence issues dealt with by trained staff. A hairdresser attends the centre on a regular basis for both ladies and gentlemen.
