WRVS
WRVS (www.wrvs.org.uk/default.aspx)
is an age-positive charity that offers a range of practical
services to help and support older people to live well, maintain
their independence and play a part in their local community.
You may be looking for help for elderly people. The good news is
that WRVS helps older people across Great Britain in their homes,
in the community and in hospitals.
It works in partnership with other charities and organisations,
local authorities and the NHS, supporting communities throughout
England, Scotland and Wales to be strong and cohesive.
WRVS in Medway
The WRVS has an information centre and café in
Chatham High Street. The centre offers a welcoming environment for
people aged 55 years or more where they can access information on
the services and advice available to them. It has meeting
rooms for hire, offers computer training courses and is
planning a series of regular speakers on interesting subjects.
Users can also book an appointment in advance for the weekly
Citizens' Advice Bureau sessions.
