NHS scrutiny protocol

The NHS is required by law to consult local Overview and Scrutiny Committees about any planned substantial health service variations or developments. In Medway a protocol (pdf 112KB) has been agreed with all the local NHS Trusts on how this should be done.

Overview and Scrutiny Committee meetings are open to the public and the committee work programmes list any planned consultation by the NHS on substantial service variations or developments.
