Purdah restrictions

There are elections in each of the 22 wards and 11 parishes in Medway on Thursday, 5 May 2011.

In the period between the publication of the formal Notice of Election and election day Medway Council is required to place restrictions on publicity activities. This period is known as the "purdah period" and began on Friday, 25 March 2011.

During the "purdah period" commenting functionality on council-run websites will be suspended. Comments previously posted and moderated will continue to be displayed, but new comments will not be accepted during this period.
