Medway Matters What’s on Guide Castle
Concerts Competition
Three lucky readers of Medway Matters will be going to the
Proms at Rochester Castle Concerts this summer. All entrants have
to so is to leaf through the new bi-monthly guide delivered with
the February/March 2012 issue and tell us what day and date
the England Basketball National League play-off finals will be held
at Medway Park.
Terms and Conditions
1.This competition is open to anyone over 18, except for
employees of Medway Council, their families or anyone else
associated with the competition.
2. The prize of two tickets per winner has been supplied by
Medway Council. Any entry which is incomplete, illegible or defaced
will be rejected. Medway Council will not be responsible for late,
lost or delayed entries or network, computer hardware or software
failures of any kind that may delay or restrict entry. Medway
Council reserves the right to substitute any prizes with a prize of
equivalent or higher value in the event of circumstances outside
its control.The prize is not transferable and there is no cash
alternative. No purchase is necessary.
3. Entries must be sent by post to What’s On Guide Castle Proms
competition, Medway Matters, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR
or by email to medway.matters@medway.gov.uk.
Entries must include full contact details.
4. The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday, 13 April 2012.
Late entries will not be accepted.
5. Three winners will be selected by the editor of Medway
Matters. The editor’s decision is final.
6. The winners will be notified by phone, post or email no later
than two weeks after the winning entry has been selected.
7. Personal details collected by this competition will not be
given to third parties or used for marketing purposes. The winner's
name can be obtained after the closing date for a period of four
weeks by sending an email to the address at the foot of this page
or a stamped addressed envelope to:

8. Medway Council reserves the right to withdraw this prize at
any time or amend the terms and conditions applicable without prior
notice. By entering the competition entrants confirm their
acceptance of these terms and conditions. Medway Council reserves
the right to refuse to award prizes to anyone found to be in breach

Chatham Shopping - Writing competition
One lucky resident has the chance to win a £150 January sales
January sales bargain hunting trip in Chatham.
Chatham has a huge array of shops from well-known High Street
chains to more specialist shops and a variety of places to eat.
For a chance to win, all you have to do is write a 250 word
piece about why town centres are so important to local areas. The
best piece - picked by the editor of council magazine Medway
Matters - will win.
The winner will get to spend the £150 during a single designated
shopping trip on three or more items of their choice, subject to
some exceptions, in three or more stores in Chatham.
The winner gets to keep all items bought on the day, but they
will also need to agree to take part in a future article, which
includes posing for a picture, detailing what they bought and their
views.

money on three or more items of their choice at three shops of
their choice in Chatham town centre subject to the following
exceptions:
Stores primarily selling adult goods, alcohol and tobacco products,
bookmakers or other gambling purposes.
8. The prize money cannot be spent on purchasing
the following goods – adults goods, alcohol or tobacco products,
plus items such as DVDs rated 18, or for gambling purposes or
or any other items deemed unsuitable for inclusion in a family
magazine like Medway Matters.
9. The winner will be accompanied by a representative for Medway
Matters while shopping and they may be asked to attend a
prize-giving ceremony, where photographs could be taken and used
for promotional purposes.
10. The winner will get to keep all items bought on the day, but
they will need to agree to take part in a future article for the
council magazine. Medway Matters, which includes posing for a
picture, detailing what they bought and their views.

Prize draw to win £250 of High Street vouchers
1. This prize draw is open to anyone, except for employees of
Medway Council, their families or anyone else associated with the
prize draw, who has completed a feedback questionnaire on paper or
online for Medway Council, where this is the specified prize.
2. The prize has been supplied by Medway Council. Any entry
which is incomplete, illegible or defaced will be rejected. Medway
Council will not be responsible for late, lost or delayed entries
or network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind that
may delay or restrict entry. Medway Council reserves the right to
substitute any prizes with a prize of equivalent or higher value in
the event of circumstances outside its control.The prize is not
transferable and there is no cash alternative. No purchase is
necessary.
3. Entries must be submitted via feedback questionnaires -
online or on paper - supplied at specific events and festivals, as
well for specific marketing programmes where the £250 of High
Street vouchers prize draw is mentioned. Entries must include full
contact details.
4. The winner will be selected after 12noon on Friday,
30 March 2012. Individual closing dates apply for all
surveys as outlined and explained on each piece of material where
this prize draw is specifically mentioned. Late entries will not be
accepted.
5. One winner will be drawn at random under independent
supervision. The winner will be the first and only entry drawn and
will be notified by phone, post or email no later than two weeks
after the winning entry has been selected. The prize will be sent
to the winner at the address provided on the winning entry.
6. The winner may be asked to attend a prize-giving ceremony,
where photographs could be taken and used for promotional
purposes.
7. Medway Council employees and their immediate families cannot
enter the prize draw.
