Medway has 181,000 voters. Every four years they can vote at local elections for councillors - the people who make decisions about how resources are spent in Medway and what services are provided.

Seats on the council

The council is made up of 55 councillors who represent 22 wards throughout Medway. The current political composition of the council is:

  • Conservative 35
  • Labour 15
  • Liberal Democrat 3
  • Independent Group 2
