Register of interests
All councillors are required, in their declaration of acceptance
of office, to agree to abide by the members'
code of conduct in the council's constitution.
The code requires that members notify the council’s Monitoring
Officer of their financial and other interests. Those declarations
are held in a register which is open to inspection by the
public.
Members must also notify the Monitoring Officer of any gifts or
hospitality they receive that are worth more
than £25.
The Monitoring Officer for Medway Council is the Assistant
Director, Legal, Contracts and Property Services.
The registers of interests, gifts and hospitality are available
for inspection in the Assistant Director's office at Gun Wharf in
Chatham.
