Council Plan 2013-15 now published
The council has published its The Council Plan
2013-15 (pdf 63KB), which is our business plan for the
next two years. It sets out how we will ensure we provide the best
possible services for our residents.
To use this file, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do
not have it on your computer, please use our advice page.
The plan sets out the council’s main objectives and centres
around four priorities:
- Children and young people have the best start in life in Medway
Council
- Adults maintain their independence and live healthy lives
- Safe, clean and green Medway
- Everyone benefiting from regeneration
In addition to this, all the work the council does is led by our
two core values:
- Putting the customer at the centre of everything we do
- Giving value for money
The plan details the key things the council plans to do to
deliver its priorities and core values. It also includes measures
of success, which will be used to gauge how well we are doing.

The Council Plan is rolled forward each year. It was
developed through a process aligned to the budget setting process,
strengthening the link between resources and priorities. It
demonstrates how the council is using its resources to meet
specific local objectives. It forms an essential part of the
council’s performance management framework, setting out the
outcomes against which progress will be regularly measured over the
coming years.
It is a key element of the budget and policy framework but it is
important to note that the Council Plan is not a stand-alone
document. It will be supported by our service planning framework,
contributing to the development of a comprehensive planning and
performance framework across the council. The council's core
values and strategic priorities continue to direct the
council’s work in the Council Plan.
