Enrolment - how to join a course
You can enrol in the following ways:
- in person;
- by email;
- by telephone or fax;
- by post.
It is not yet possible to enrol via the internet but you can use
the contact information below to check availability.

If you wish to enrol on one of our publically funded courses and
have not been living continuously in the UK for at least the last
three years, and are not an EU national who has been living
continuously in the EU for at least the last three years, you may
need this Learner Eligibility for
Funding form (pdf 19KB).
When to enrol
Although the main period for enrolment is July each year, you
can enrol throughout the year on courses that still have places.
You should try to enrol early to avoid disappointment, as some
classes fill up quickly.
For one-day courses, please book at least two weeks in advance,
If the chosen course is full and there are no alternatives,
learners will be asked if they wish to go on a waiting list. There
may be a cancellation or an additional course may be arranged if
there is sufficient demand.
There are many courses that can be joined after the start date,
provided there are vacancies. Please enquire.
Seek full information and advice before proceeding with an
- Read the course information sheet, using the course finder database
to check the knowledge and skills needed before you start the
course and to find out if it provides what you are looking
- If necessary, speak to the subject specialist or make an
appointment at a pre-course meeting.
- For clarification about costs, fee concessions, availability
and access, speak to the office staff at one of the centres.
For most courses that lead to a qualification, it is essential
to speak to the appropriate curriculum manager to ensure that you
get a place. The course information sheet will give details.
