Welcome to Medway

Photo of Cllr Rodney Chambers, Leader of Medway CouncilYou should now have had time to look around the campus. I hope you are pleased with what you’ve seen and agree with me that you will be continuing your studies in some of the country’s state-of-the-art university buildings. However, university life is more than buildings and studying. While you are here I hope you will come to discover all that Medway has to offer and you will make it your home.

Our rich heritage includes:

Our great future includes:

  • exciting regeneration plans;
  • a growing student population, now standing at 10,000;
  • our cultural events and attractions, including 20 days of free festivals;
  • Medway Park, our regional centre of sporting excellence.

You’ll find that much of what you can experience in Medway ties in with your university courses, for example:

  • engineering, teaching you some of the very same skills practiced within the Royal Engineers;
  • sports science and therapy, teaching you the techniques practiced within first-class leisure facilities such as Medway Park;
  • event management, teaching you what it takes to put on events such as our widely-acclaimed Dickens Festival.

We hope that you find inspiration in your university course but also in Medway itself. I am very pleased you have chosen to study here and wish you every success.
