Day nurseries

Day nurseries provide care, play and some education for children
aged less than five years.
All three and four-year-olds are entitled to a free part-time early
education place. This means that each week your child will be
provided with 15 hours of free early education.
There are different types of nurseries: private, community or
council-run. All offer part-time places through to full daycare,
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. They must be inspected and registered
by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
Your child should experience learning and development activities
suitable for their age.
Cost
Rates will vary across the country. Medway Family Information
Service will be able to give you up-to-date local costs. All three
and four-year-olds are entitled to a free part-time early education
place. This means that each week your child will be provided with
15 hours of free early education for 38 weeks each year.
