Day nurseries

FIS logo for webpages

Day nurseries provide care, play and some education for children aged less than five years.

All three and four-year-olds are entitled to a free part-time early education place. This means that each week your child will be provided with 15 hours of free early education.Playground

There are different types of nurseries: private, community or council-run. All offer part-time places through to full daycare, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. They must be inspected and registered by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).

Your child should experience learning and development activities suitable for their age.
