Academy building programme

Strood Academy frontageThe School Organisation team appointed BAM Construction Ltd to build all three of Medway's new academies - Strood Academy, Bishop of Rochester Academy and Brompton Academy.

The Academy developments will create modern and flexible teaching environments that will help raise standards amongst young pupils in Medway as well as providing a range of improved facilities to benefit the wider community.

Strood Academy is the first of the three academies to be built and was completed on schedule ready for the new term in September 2012 and the old buildings have now been demolished. Work on the landscaping and multi-use games areas are well on the way.

You can view photos of the finished building at BAM Strood Academy facebook page.

Bishop of Rochester Academy and Brompton Academy both started on site in autumn 2011 and are scheduled for completion in summer 2013. You can check their progress on the BAM Bishop of Rochester Academy facebook page and the BAM Brompton Academy facebook page for up-to-date information and photos.
