Other school building projects
The School Organisation team is currently overseeing a
range of building projects throughout Medway's Primary and
Secondary Schools as part of the Schools Capital
Programme.
The programme involves significant investment in schools to
promote achievement and wellbeing for all young people in Medway
and the communities in which schools exist. These developments will
also contribute to the physical and social regeneration of areas of
Medway.
The school buildings at All Faiths', Strood; Napier
Primary, Gillingham; Oaklands School, Chatham; Thames View School,
Gillingham; Lordswood School, Chatham; Twydall School, Gillingham;
Elaine Primary, Strood; Sir Joseph Williamson Maths School,
Rochester and Walderslade Primary, Chatham will all be
improved as part of the Capital Programme 2011/12.
Walderslade Primary, Lordswood School, Thames View, All Faiths',
Oaklands, SJW Maths School, Twydall,
Elaine and Napier projects are
now complete.
Wainscott Primary expansion project business case was approved
by Cabinet on 7 August 2012, BAM Construction Ltd have now
started on site, and the project is due for completion
in December 2013.
Proposals for potential providers to redevelop the old
Chatham South buildings once Bishop of Rochester Academy
vacate the site have been published and responses were
received at the end of October 2012. The DfE then
appointed The Rochester Grammar & All Faiths Thinking
Schools Trust as the successful provider for the academy in
April 2013 and Medway Council is working with them
at the moment to come up with the design for the building for
the Final Business Case to go to Cabinet for full sign
off in October 2013. The estimated starting time on
site is the end of October this year for completion
in summer 2014.

Maths School Design Technology block; Bradfield's ASD provision;
Twydall amalgamation project; Oaklands amalgamation project; Napier
