Looking for a school place in Medway
Parents and guardians often face a difficult decision about
which school to choose for their child. You will need to consider a
number of different questions, including:
- How close is the school to the child's home?
- Where is the school located?
- How big/small is the school?
- What are the values and beliefs of the school?
You can arrange to visit schools by contacting them for an
appointment. For further information to help you with this decision
you can also look at:
- the school prospectus, which will have detailed information on
the school and its performance;
- the school website, which will give you a wide selection of
information on the school;
- school performance information, which is available in the
achievement and attainment tables compiled by
Medway Council;
- details of the most recent school inspection can be obtained
from the school or by using the Ofsted website.
If you are a Medway resident (i.e. pay your Council Tax to
Medway), then you must apply through Medway Council.
If you live outside of Medway you will need to contact your home
local authority (LA) (e.g. Kent County Council).
The Student Services Department are happy to offer you
advice on how to apply for school places for your child and any
further information you require.
