The policies and proposals contained in the local development documents need to be soundly based on robust, credible and up-to-date evidence. Government guidance specifies a number of requirements in addition to purely local needs and a continuing programme of work has prepared and kept under review all necessary elements of this evidence base. Where appropriate the council has worked with adjoining authorities and regional agencies to ensure that the wider sub-regional and regional context was taken into account.
A list of the evidence prepared (which is not exhaustive) can be found below, along with the reference number for each study/document submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.
