Fire and rescue

The Medway area is covered by Kent Fire and Rescue Service, whose regional headquarters is at Watling Street, Chatham. There are two full-time fire stations:

  • Watling Street, Chatham,
  • Gravesend Road, Strood.

There are also five retained fire stations:

  • Green Street, Gillingham,
  • The Cut, Chatham,
  • Church Street, Cliffe,
  • Vicarage Road, Halling,
  • Solomon Road, Rainham.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for delivering fire and rescue services to more than 1.5 million people in Kent and Medway, from 66 fire stations and 13 district fire safety offices.
