Pre-application advice

Charges for pre-planning application advice

In order that the council can provide this service to a consistent and high standard, it has been decided that the cost of this service should be recovered directly from the applicant and not all as a general cost to the council tax payer. This came into force in April 2011.

Charges will apply to all pre application discussions for development/uses requiring planning permission. The documents go into detail about the pre-application process, including costs and helpful definitions to help guide your application, for eg whether it counts as a major or minor development. You will need to submit the relevant request form and fee with your enquiry:

To use the above file and the forms, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this on your computer, please use our advice page.
