Stay active

Just because you're older and wiser there's no need to rest on your laurels. There's plenty of things going on in Medway to keep you busy post retirement, and support to get you there. These are just a selection of possibilities. If there's anything missing send an email to info@medway.gov.uk and we'll get it added.

Stay healthy

Our Better Medway website has lots of tips and information for all ages - from ideas on staying active to diet and health advice. The Age UK website (the new joint name for Age Concern and Help the Aged) also has some useful tips.

Stay at home

We're all living longer and wanting to live independently for as long as possible. Our Community Care pages have more information on accessing a bit of extra help with every day tasks should it be required as you get older.  There is also support available with house repairs plus community alarm systems such as Medway Lifeline.

There's also a lot of information here for those researching residential care and day care options in Medway. If you are a carer - that includes anyone looking after someone - take a look at our Respite Care section.

Stay safe

This last section includes links to our Trading Standards team. The Kent Police website has useful advice on bogus callers and other crime prevention advice. We've also signposted you to a section dealing with benefits, such as winter fuel and cold weather payments. Just click on the highlighted words to take you through to the right page.
