Housing- Compensations and redress

Medway Council Housing Services Compensation and Redress Policy gives guidance to officers investigating complaints on behalf of Medway Housing and explains what remedies are available, including the payment of compensation.

The council is committed to providing a high quality service at all times to all its customers. It recognises, though, that there are times when services do not meet those high standards and customers are inconvenienced as a result.

The council will endeavour to apply a suitable remedy at an early stage when service failures occur. The remedy will show the council’s commitment to getting things right and learning from complaints.

This policy should be read in conjunction with the council’s housing complaints procedure, which may be used by customers who feel they have experienced a service failure.
