Housing strategy service standards

It is important that housing development provides affordable housing to meet local needs and encourage balanced communities.

The council works with private developers, affordable housing partners and the Homes and Communities Agency to ensure that new affordable homes are provided within Medway.

As well as working to develop new homes, Medway Council works with owners of empty properties to bring them back into use as affordable, decent homes.

The council’s Housing Strategy and Development Service is also leading on the development of Medway’s Fuel Poverty and Home Energy Conservation Strategy.

We will:

listen to stakeholders' views, value their input and use that input to improve or review services;
make our policies and strategies available to customers in a variety of formats.
