Telephone service standards-

When you contact us by telephone we will:

  • answer the phone in six rings or fewer;
  • give you the choice of calling us back, leaving a message or arranging to call you back at an agreed time if the person you wish to speak to is not available;
  • only transfer you if we cannot deal with your enquiry and tell our colleague what you have already told us, so you do not have to repeat yourself;

In return, we expect you to try to be clear and specific about what you are contacting us about and understand that some periods of the day are busier than others.

We do not expect you to be verbally abusive or threatening when talking to us.
