At certain locations, where space permits, the council allows cafés, restaurants and public houses to have tables and chairs on pavements. This requires a licence and each site is considered individually. To apply for a licence, please use the contact information below and a visit by a council officer will be arranged.
Medway Council does not allow the display of advertisements on the public highway, even if the property has a tables and chairs licence.
Shops can apply to have a display of goods on the highway.
