Medway has four cemeteries which are run and maintained by Medway Council, who are committed to providing a first class service and improving the appearance and safety of its cemeteries.

Grounds maintenance

Grounds maintenance goes on throughout the year and there may be times when the grounds look untidy. If you are concerned, please contact us at the address below.

Buying a new grave

If you have a specific request about the location of a grave then you may need to consider selecting a grave rather than leave the choice to your funeral director or the council. Please contact the council if you wish to discuss this further.

Looking after the grave

The grave and its condition remains your responsibility for the time that you have the exclusive right of burial. Please advise us if you move or the ownership of the grave changes.

Memorials

You may decide to have a memorial erected after the burial. The council will need to approve any memorial you choose and issue a permit.
