Citizens Advice Medway offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice on many subjects including:
- debt;
- welfare benefits;
- housing;
- employment.
Initial access is by telephone only.
There are two Citizens Advice Bureaux in the Medway area which can be found at:
Telephone helpline
- 0844 826 9709;
- Monday to Friday 9.30am-3pm;
- 24-hour automated advice line outside these times;
- Access to appointment service.
Chatham self-help information centre
- Monday to Friday 9.30am-3pm;
- Call at reception on the second floor, for assessment only;
- Access to information kiosk.

Chatham Jobseekers advisory service
- Monday to Friday 9.30am-3pm;
- help with job search and writing CVs;
- based at the Chatham office;
- no appointment is necessary, call at reception on the second floor.

Volunteers
Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity, reliant on volunteers who make up 90 per cent of the people who staff the bureaux in Chatham and Gillingham. Their volunteer roles are as advisers, trainee advisers, admin supporters, receptionists, social policy co-ordinators, guidance tutors, session supervisors, mentors, management committee and advisory group members.
