Better Life Assembly
Better Life Assembly is an independent, non-denominational, multi-ethnic church, blessed by Pastor Phillip Thomas. This organisation helps young and older people connect and see the purpose of God expressed in their lives. The church has embarked on faith and community projects, including a student union and a thriving youth ministry. Better Life Assembly hopes to be a blessing to the community and the wider church body, positively impacting through events such as the Bruised to be Used conference.
Sunday:

Blythswood Care
The Rochester Depot is part of this UK-wide Christian charity formed in 1966. It uses donated goods to support individuals, organisations and projects locally and globally, helping needy people, regardless of their ethnic origins, religion or political beliefs. The value of goods given away has been more than £20million from 2003 to 2005.
The new depot has a shop selling new and re-used donated items, including cycles, furniture and small electrical goods at affordable prices. All funds are used for charitable purposes.
The five staff are helped by volunteers doing lots of jobs, including sorting and packing goods, driving, administration, fundraising and organising social events.
Blythswood Care has an annual shoebox appeal for Christmas with a target of 100,000 gift boxes for children, young people and adults. To make contact or to discuss volunteering opportunities, the contact details are below.

Churches Together in Medway (CTIM)
Churches Together in Medway (CTIM) provides the means whereby the Christian religion can be advanced through the running of ecumenical worship, events and activities.
Examples include Celebrate (the midweek celebration at Emmaus, Chatham), Schools Prayer Network, Watchman Wall Prayer, Medway Prayer events and Global Day of Prayer all come under the CTIM banner.
It also acts as a means whereby local churches in Medway can support and encourage each other by distributing news and publicity of local church events.
There are around 70 local churches and Christian organisations affiliated.

Gillingham Youth for Christ (YFC)
Gillingham YFC is a Christian-based organisation set up in 1997 by the local church.
Gillingham YFC has a drop-in centre in Trafalgar Street, Gillingham. The drop-in centre is open every afternoon from 3.15-5pm for young people between the ages of six and 13. It welcomes young parents who want to meet other young people.
Gillingham YFC also runs evening youth clubs in Medway for 11 to 14 year-olds through the Detached Youth Work Teams. The youth clubs provide positive activities for young people outside of school hours. The Gillingham YFC drop-in centre is open during holiday times and the charity-run summer camps.

Hope in the Community Ltd (HitC)
The aim of HitC is to involve voluntary and community workers, particularly in the faith sector, in a national strategy.
HitC aims to create and co-ordinate a network of regeneration teams for access by churches and faith groups. The network would build on existing work whenever possible and use and develop existing key players.
HitC will work through both newly-formed and existing faith community networks:
- to build capacity;
- to deliver projects;
- to share experience;
- to promote good practice;
- to research funding sources from local, national and European sources;
- to offer support for bringing together partnerships, writing business plans, submitting bids and monitoring projects;
- to offer continuing support in areas such as payroll and accounting;
- to provide opportunities for strategic and regional initiatives, including offering a framework for funding streams;
- to evaluate successful bids and establish best practice.

Strood Gospel Mission Church
This is a well established church that has been on the same site in Brompton Lane, Strood for more than 100 years. A wide range of activities for all ages is available, as well as support for the local community, for example, youth work and parenting classes.
Sunday worship takes place from 10-11.15am and from 6.30-7.40pm every week.
