Kent Community Housing Trust (KCHT) (www.kcht.org.uk) is a Rochester-based charity that provides services to people in need in Medway, Kent, Bexley and Greenwich. It owns and manages 22 residential care homes in those areas including:
- Churchlands, Chatham (phone 01634 843745);
- Lennox Wood, Petham Green, Gillingham (phone 01634 263631).
New Outlooks is a specialist KCHT service that supports people with a learning disability in Medway to remain independent in their own homes (phone 01795 423819).
The KCHT Moving Forward division (www.kcht.org.uk/movingforward) provides a range of services for young people and their families. In Medway, these include a Moving Forward drop-in centre in Cross Street, Chatham (phone 01634 827772). Young people needing to become independent but facing difficulties can attend the drop-in centre to access information, advice, life-skills workshops and continuing support.
