If you would like to undertake a funding search yourself, you can use Grantnet, a user-friendly, free service which has been devised to assist organisations to identify funding sources that are available for specific projects. The database currently holds details of more than 5,000 initiatives administered by a variety of funding providers, including the European Commission, UK government departments, local government, major charitable trusts and corporate sponsors.
Once you have registered with Grantnet (www.grantnet.org.uk/index.html?portal=Medway_Council) you will be emailed a password which will allow you to gain access. Having logged into the system, you must answer a few simple questions about your organisation and the project which you wish to undertake. Grantnet will then provide an overview of all the schemes available.
A copy of the search results are sent to Medway Council's Funding Unit who will be able to provide more detailed information and guidance on appropriate schemes and offer further support.
If you would like assistance in developing a proposal or are ready to submit a proposal and would like the Unit to comment on it, please send a copy of it by email or post.
The Unit is a bona fide funding advisor for the Big Lottery Fund.
