Medway Neighbourhood Watch Association needs volunteers
There are more than 400 watches throughout Medway, each one run by a co-ordinator and deputies. Medway Neighbourhood Watch Association needs to increase this number and is asking for volunteers to start watches.
If you are prepared to devote, on average, no more than 20 minutes of your time a week, you could make a difference in making your area a safer place to live.
For an introductory pack, phone Medway Police Station on 01634 792131 or email kcm.medway@kent.pnn.police.uk.

Macmillan Cancer Support Big Sports Day
Schools can raise pupils’ awareness of cancer by holding their sports day as usual and suggesting that every pupil to brings in a £1 donation. Ideas include:
- A sponsored Teachers' Race, the sillier, the better: how about a three-legged race in fancy dress?
- Set up a drinks stall for all those thirsty athletes. Pupils could make the tasty beverages as part of their food technology lessons.
- Ask pupils to give up unhealthy snacks the week before The Big Sports Day and donate the money they have saved.
- Hold a healthy picnic for pupils, parents and teachers after the last event. Visit www.macmillan.org.uk/whybother/lifestyle/my-diet.html for some simple and tasty recipe ideas.
This event can be adopted by any groups or clubs. Visit www.macmillan.org.uk/bigsportsday.
