Halling Association Project News

Partnership

The Halling Association is a local partnership covering the parish of Halling. It was formed in 2001 and is made up of partners from the local councils, businesses, police and other organisations. The aim of the partnership is to improve the quality of life for Halling residents and to enhance the local environment. The Halling Association is funded by its member organisations to support new projects and to make grants to local groups.

Projects

The partnership has supported a broad range of projects in the village, from small landscaping projects, grants to local groups, repairs and improvements to the Jubilee Hall, to larger projects, such as the war memorial and planting scheme at Forge Green and the youth shelter in the recreation ground.

Forthcoming projects include a planned multi-use games area in the recreation ground. The planning application has been submitted for this and, once it has been agreed, construction can begin and the games area should be ready for use in the spring.

The Halling Association is also working with the Valley of Visions programme to open up the Bishops Palace site for peaceful enjoyment of the area’s heritage. This will involve interpretation of the site’s history as well as some environmental improvements.

Help for local groups

The Halling Association is keen to support more local projects, especially from smaller community groups and organisations. It has put money aside just for small projects from local groups. This funding can be used for many different types of projects, such as special outings for groups, new equipment or help covering the cost of an event. Grants have been given to a number of local groups to help buy equipment for youth groups, replacement bell ropes, fold-up tables and sponsorship for prizes.
