As part of a 20-year regeneration programme lasting until 2026, Medway has embarked upon a huge transformation in terms of its physical environment, its community and its economy. The first phase involves a £120million programme of urban and brownfield regeneration along the Medway waterfront.
The vision behind this transformation is for Medway to develop a strong, respected and high profile identity as a city of learning, culture, tourism and enterprise. This vision and its strategic priorities are set out clearly in Medway’s Regeneration Framework, which builds on the aspirations highlighted in the Medway Community Plan.
Medway Council's Social Regeneration and Europe service is responding to this regeneration vision by working towards transforming Medway into a premier European city and enabling existing communities to benefit from Medway’s regeneration.
Medway's Social Regeneration Strategy (2008-2016) (pdf 381KB) was adopted by the council's cabinet as part of Medway's Regeneration Framework on 1 April 2008. To use this file, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this on your computer, please use our advice page.
