As part of the drive to provide a quicker, more predictable and efficient planning service, the government has introduced new standard application forms (1APP) for planning permission, together with new information requirements for the validation of planning applications by the council as the local planning authority (LPA).
The government intends that the LPA should, where appropriate, set out validation standards to ensure all relevant information necessary for it to make a decision is provided at the start of the application process. This should stop the LPA having to ask for further detail by issuing a direction. Medway Council has worked with the other Kent councils to create a county-wide set of documents that guide applicants through the new validation system.
Please note that these documents are in consultation draft form and will be subject to updates. To use these forms, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this on your computer, please use our advice page.
The council would like to thank everyone who gave their views on the proposed documents during the consultation period earlier this year.
