Medway’s Rural Initiative for Transport (MERIT) has funded the installation of seventeen public transport info stations in the villages of rural Medway. This is to improve residents' access to bus timetables and other transport information they might need.
Found in a local shop or pub, the info stations will be updated on a monthly basis to ensure that the information is accurate and up-to-date and to inform residents of any service changes.
What’s in the info stations?
The info stations contain a variety of useful transport information, including:
- a newly designed, simplified and specific bus timetable for each village, intended to make it easier for people to identify the buses relevant for them – including a wallet-sized summary card to carry around;
- all other local bus route timetables;
- leaflets for Medway Mobility and the Medway bus pass;
- timetables for school services;
- other useful literature, e.g. local walks, events organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
