The council’s blue box and bag collection service picks up recycling from homes in Medway every fortnight on the same day of the week as rubbish for landfill is collected. Find out your collection day.
Recycling calendars
Identifying the correct recycling calendar depends on your specific area information. Because recycling collections are every other week and as we collect from five different areas a week, this creates 10 possible calendars. To ensure you receive the correct information on your exact recycling collection week, or to request a new calendar to be sent out, please phone Customer First. The contact details are listed below.
To help you recycle more, you receive blue bags for recycling every 13 weeks. If you need more blue bags, they can be collected from council contact points or your local library.
Please put your recycling out in your blue box or bags by 7am on your usual recycling collection day. Rubbish that cannot be recycled should be put out in black sacks on your usual rubbish collection day. These are not provided by the council, so you will need to buy these yourself from local shops.
Please note that if your waste or recycling is missed, you must notify the council within 24 hours.
