Highways infrastructure and projects

Medway Council is responsible for making sure that:

  • transport projects get built,
  • new housing estate roads are safely designed and well-built.

The layout of new housing estate roads is checked to make sure they are designed to be safe and their construction by private developers is inspected to make sure they are well built and will not be a liability to local taxpayers when they are adopted.

The Highways Infrastructure and Projects team works with other teams in the council to try to ensure projects are effectively managed, delivered on time and provide value for money.
