Be safe and get active

• Streetwise (www.streetwise.org.uk) is an interactive safety education site.
• Kent and Medway Walking Bus Group (www.kmwalktoschool.co.uk) show you how to join a walking bus or start one up youself.
• Letzgogreen (www.letzgogreen.org) is a highly recommended site that holds a lot of interactive materials with clear lesson plans, suitable for Key Stages 1 and 2.
• Healthy Schools (http://home.healthyschools.gov.uk) carries health information for teachers.
• Walk to School (www.walktoschool.org.uk) is user-friendly and a must-visit site.
• International Walk to School (www.iwalktoschool.org) highlights the many reasons people and communities walk to school.
• Tales of the Road (http://talesoftheroad.direct.gov.uk).
• Total Little Learners www.totallittlelearners.co.uk is a road safety programme for children up to six years old.
• The Childrens Traffic Club (www.trafficclub.co.uk) is a successful, award winning road safety programme for three and four-year-olds.

Go green

• Environmental Transport Association (www.eta.co.uk) promotes Green Transport Week and National Car-free Day. It also aims to reduce dependence on cars and lorries.

• Living Streets (www.livingstreets.org.uk), from the Pedestrians Association, has lots of useful links.

Road Safety professional organisations

• Institute of Road Safety Officers (www.irso.org.uk) is a national organisation for everybody actively engaged promoting road safety.
• Renault (www.safetymatters.renault.co.uk) has some detailed lesson plans and good interactive online activities for Key Stages 1 and 2.
• Transport Research Laboratory (www.trl.co.uk) is about transport and the future.
• Kent and Medway Safety Camera partnership (www.kmscp.org) explains all about safety cameras in Kent and Medway.
• Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) (www.rospa.com) provides road safety information, resources and advice.
• Road Safety GB (www.roadsafetygb.org.uk) displays information and resources for road safety.
• Think Road Safety (www.dft.gov.uk/think) gives details of various road safety campaigns. It also has downloads for posters and a page aimed at teachers.
