Licence to Kill?

Licence to Kill? (www.licencetokill.org) is an innovative theatre education project, exploring the circumstances and consequences of a road traffic collision. Aimed at 16 to 18 year-olds in Kent and Medway, a film of a crash in the local area has been especially recreated, with roads and hospitals familiar to local students.

Licence to Kill? is produced by a road safety partnership including Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Kent County Council, Kent Police, Medway Council, Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership and South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Coroners' Court

As part of the road safety education service's efforts to reduce the number of 17 to 25 year-olds involved in crashes, Medway Coroners' Court and Medway Council road safety team met in October 2006 to present a mock inquest into the death of a 16-year-old in a road traffic collision.

Know the Limits

Led by the Kent and Medway Safety Camera Partnership this is the gameshow where you find out just how much you know about the roads you drive on.Take a look at the Know the Limits website (www.knowthelimits.org) to test yourself online and be in with the chance of winning a digital camera.

Grow up Slow down

This campaign (www.kmscp.org/gusd) is based on research carried out in 2006, which concluded that young drivers thought the worst thing that could happen if they drove too fast was that they could kill or injure another person, particularly a child. The campaign therefore aims to shock young drivers into realising what could happen if they drive at inappropriate speeds.

The campaign launched on 16 October 2006 and consisted of mobile scooter-ads, mobile adtrucks, banners, and a building wrap. These were positioned at key roadside locations, leisure and retail parks, shopping centres, static and mobile safety camera sites, sixth forms, colleges and universities, high streets, nightclubs, pubs and sporting venues. In addition, footage was projected on to the side of a mobile truck in cinema car parks.
