Signs

Permanent signs

When someone writes to the council asking for signs to be put up showing the way to their premises, the council will carry out a survey, identify possible locations for the signs, design them and provide the applicant with a quotation.

If agreed, the signs are made and erected and the invoice is then sent to the applicant.

Temporary signs

When someone writes to the council requesting permission to erect temporary signs, its Traffic Management Unit will check the locations suggested and either approve or object to the proposal.
