• Tree Preservation: A Guide to the Lawand Good Practice (www.communities.gov.uk/publications/planningandbuilding/tposguide) – a detailed guide to the law relating to Tree Preservation Orders.
• Arboricultural Association (www.trees.org.uk) – has extensive links to British Standards approved contractors who carry out work on trees.
• British-Trees.com (www.british-trees.com) – has great photos of trees and flowers.
• CABI Bioscience (www.cabi.org) – gives the lowdown on lots of natural and man-made pests and the research being done to counteract them.
• Dr Greenfingers (www.doctorgreenfingers.co.uk) – a great site about gardening and how to care for trees, treat plants and get rid of pests.

• The Forestry Commission (www.forestry.gov.uk) - a body appointed by the Queen on the recommendation of the government, which is  responsible for the protection and expansion of Britain's forests and woodlands.
• The Tree Advice Trust (www.treehelp.info) – mainly about getting hold of professional help with trees.
• The Tree Council (www.treecouncil.org.uk) – lots to do in woodland and lots of information about trees.
• Woodland Trust (www.woodlandtrust.org.uk) – all about Britain's native woodland.
• Woodnet (www.woodnet.org.uk) – useful links for those interested in buying or selling timber and resources to do with sustainable forestry.
