Free loft and cavity wall insulation for older people

Medway residents over the age of 70 are now eligible for more help with heating their homes. The government's Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) entitles any homeowner or private tenant who is more than 70 years old to free loft and cavity wall insulation.

You could be spending up to 30 per cent more than you should be on your heating bills if you don't have any loft or roof insulation. Adding a 270mm (10.5 inch) layer of loft insulation can save you £180 to £220 a year.

More information is available from The Kent Energy Centre on 0800 358 6669 or (www.kentenergycentre.org.uk).
