How to arrange for a repair to be carried out on a council home
Contact the Housing Maintenance Support Team during office hours. They will be able to discuss the issue and make the necessary arrangements to complete the repair at the earliest possible opportunity.
You may also inform them by using the following online forms:
What happens then?
When a problem is reported a repairs officer will:
- take details of the problem;
- confirm whether the council is responsible;
- give a reference for future contact, if that is necessary;
- arrange an appointment for the works to be completed;
- arrange for the repair.
It is important that the appointment is kept or the job could be cancelled. If the appointment cannot be kept, the Housing Maintenance Support Team will arrange a more suitable time.
What if the repair is not satisfactory?
The council tries hard to make sure that all jobs are done on time and to a satisfactory standard, but knows that sometimes things go wrong or that a tenant may not agree with the decision it has made.
If there is any cause to complain about the way a request has been handled or the work carried out or even the people involved, please let us know.
Contact the Housing Maintenance Support Team by one of the methods shown below and they will endeavour to assist.
