Workers' Educational Association

The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) (www.wea.org.uk) is the major voluntary adult education organisation in Britain, providing more than 10,000 courses each year for over 150,000 students.

The aim of the WEA is to promote high-quality learning opportunities based on democratic principles in its organisation and practice. You don’t need any previous knowledge or qualifications to join most of its courses, only a willingness to share with others your curiosity, ideas and experience. If you want to see if a course is right for you, you are welcome to come along to the first meeting without obligation.

Most WEA courses are free to people who receive a means-tested benefit or Jobseekers Allowance. Also, if your household income is low, you may be entitled to a reduced fee.

The WEA will do its best to ensure that classes are open and accessible to all but if you have a problem with mobility, hearing or transport, let the Association know as early as possible so that it can make appropriate arrangements.

The WEA is committed to equality of opportunity and inclusive learning. If you need help choosing the right course, would like to suggest a course or feel you may need financial help or learning support, please use the contact details below. The WEA can also supply leaflets in large font or in certain community languages on request.
