Teacher recruitment

Medway Council is committed to the recruitment and retention of high quality teachers and support staff for its schools. All of its schools' vacancies are advertised on a dedicated part of this website - www.medway.gov.uk/teachingcareers - and are updated daily. Information can also be found about employment-based entry routes to teaching and incentives for newly-qualified and experienced teachers.

Medway has a wide variety of schools serving its 45,000 pupils, including a mixture of infant, junior and primary schools. The secondary schools consist mostly of grammar and high schools with a comprehensive system in Hoo. There are three special schools: one for pupils with severe learning difficulties and two for pupils with moderate or complex learning difficulties.
