Training in childcare

There are many opportunities to work in childcare and people do not always need to be qualified before they start. There are opportunities to train and get qualifications in early years and childcare that can provide a route for progression within the sector.

Positions range from nursery assistant to manager and everything in between and it is possible to make a career out of nursery work. Working hours in full day nurseries are generally 8am-6pm or longer but there is usually an option to work full or part-time to fit in with personal circumstances.

If you are interested in working in nurseries or other areas of early years and play work in Medway, please contact Medway Family Information Service, using the contact details at the foot of this page or use the online form.

A selection of jobs can be found on the local information pages of the Childcare website (www.childcarelink.gov.uk/whitebox/recruitment.asp?cisid=5021&mapid=59).
