Achievement and attainment tables
When selecting a primary or secondary school, achievement and attainment tables will assist in judging how well a school has performed. The tables give information on the results for Medway as well as national averages and give historic data over the past four years.
Further information about what else should be considered when selecting a school is available within the admissions and Key Stage 2 examinations sections of this website.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) website has further information on achievement and attainment tables and details for Medway can be found by using the links at: www.dcsf.gov.uk/performancetables.
Absence statistics
Parents are required to ensure pupils receive statutory education between the ages of five and 16 years. Medway Council as the Local Authority (LA) is responsible for making sure pupils attend school and this function is carried out by the Educational Welfare Service.
Information is collected from schools on the levels of both authorised absences (those for which the school has given permission) and unauthorised absences. This information is then collated to give a picture for both Medway Council and the country as a whole.
Absence statistics are available on the DCSF website (www.dcsf.gov.uk/rsgateway/DB/SFR/s000857/index.shtml).
